Website´s Text Legibility Improvement

Improving Text Legibility

You may have the best information posted  on your website, the best copywriting techniques to make your customers comprehend everything you want to inform  on your Website Design, but if it´s not legible to read or uncomfortable to the eye your writing material is long lost.

Improving the way your texts and headlines appear on your website may be a very short process that will enhance the way your webpage looks and how to read all the important information you have posted may become easier.

Keep in mind you want visitors to be able to understand everything you have worked so hard on telling and informing. In some cases the information on a webpage is completely lost due to erroneous background color set or very small, unreadable pilled text that makes the reading process hard to follow.

Here are some useful tips to make your text and information more legible to be read:

• CSS Style sheet: Cascading style sheets (CSS) are used to group everything you need to upload on a webpage into one same document. It is much easier to make changes from this sheet than certain areas of your webpage only, use one system and control the whole webpage integrated.

• Big & readable Font size: Create an impact on your headlines by using big and readable fonts that people are going to catch when they are visiting your webpage. Make them visible and appealing but try and sustain a balance and not over do it.
• Text & Background Contrast: The more contrast you have between your text and its background the better. Usually text is black and background white or very light, not a rule written in stone but it’s basically what works and it’s more suitable for extent content. Use colors for your background but try and have light colors to complement or vice versa, dark background light text.

• Readable space lines: Don´t stack your text in a way that viewers won’t be able to read.  Set a proper space between your lines to make the reading experience more comfortable and understandable. Depending on the font size and style you can check and set what space will be better to divide in-between lines.

Check that the letter font and size are suitable for the length and density of the text you have to post and make sure all the information is legible on your Web Design. Look for any mistakes or misplaced text that you think won’t have an impact on that certain area of the webpage or if it might correspond to a different page of your website.
